John Whithorne

Was in line to inherit the baronetcy and fortune of Sir John Lade but his behaviour, as an Oxford undergraduate and subsequently, led Sir John to debar him in 1739 from all but a mite of 20 shillings a week, payable each Monday morning.
He had matriculated at University college in 1738, aged 17, and ran up large debts in the town. By 1739 he had commission as a Lieutenant in Colonel Robinson's Regiment of Marines. He married a woman whose maiden name is not known. His widow died in Battersea in or before 1753.
