James Rust

Rust, James.(Huntingdonsh.) S. of James Rust, esq., a magistrate for Hunts and a banker at Huntingdon, by Margaret, d. of Lancelot Brown, esq. B. at Great Gransden, Huntingdonsh., 1798; m. 1st, 1829, only d. of Lieut.-Col. Rowles; 2ndly, 1837, eld. d. of Col. Roberts. Educated at Rugby and at University Coll., Oxford; elected a Fellow of the latter 1823, resigned 1829; was 1st in classics 1819. Called to the bar at Lincoln's Inn 1825, but relinquished practice in 1836. A magistrate of Huntingdonsh. and Chairman of Quarter Sessions since 1840, a Deputy-Lieut. of that co. since 1842. First elected for Huntindonsh. Oct. 1855, without opposition.- Athenoeum; Alconbury House, near Huntingdon.
