Educated at Rugby and at University Coll., Oxford; elected a Fellow of the latter 1823, resigned 1829; was 1st in classics 1819. Called to the bar at Lincoln's Inn 1825, but relinquished practice in 1836. A magistrate of Huntingdonsh. and Chairman of Quarter Sessions since 1840, a Deputy-Lieut. of that co. since 1842. First elected for Huntindonsh. Oct. 1855, without opposition.- Athenoeum; Alconbury House, near Huntingdon.
