Theodore William Gull Acland was educated in Gresham's School, Holt, Norfolk, England. He graduated from King's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1912 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.). He was registered as a Associate, Royal Institute of Chemistry (A.R.I.C.). He graduated from King's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, in 1923 with a Master of Arts (M.A.). He was the headmaster in King Edward VI School, Norwich, Norfolk, England. He was a deacon in 1953. He was the Curate between 1955 and 1960 in St. Luke's Church, Stanmore, Winchester, Hampshire, England. He was a priest in 1956.
