Victorian author of biographies and classically inspired guidebooks and travelogues of Italy and the Mediterranean world. He had about 31 books published, many running to 2 volumes and his autobiography published in 6 volumes (of over 500 pages each!). He died alone the day after receiving the news that a lifelong friend, Ernest Bunsen, had died.

Biography: Fuller was adopted by his uncle, through whom he became steward of Bletchingley and obtained his seat in the Commons for Elizabeth’s last Parliament. He was no doubt known to the Howards of Effingham, the dominant local family. By 1608 he was a j.p. and negotiating a marriage for his eldest daughter with the heir of Edward Dyer.
