He died February 3rd 1842 in the 88th year of his age

in whom on the merits of her redeemer
Sole heiress.
Entered the 3rd Regiment of Foot Guards in 1805 and became lieutenant by seniority on 3 April 1811. Served under Wellington in the Peninsular War. Wounded 14 April 1814 at the siege of Bayonne and died the following day while serving in the 3rd Guards 1st Battalion.

Acquired the unexpired portion of the lease of Tanners in Waldron in 1575. Bought the freehold of tenements at Waldron known as Woodplace and Tanners in 1596. His will details the division of his lands in Waldron, Mayfield, Heathfield, Northiam, Fairlight and Herstmonceux in Sussex and Shorne in Kent among family members.
